OLG Helps Organize Annual Clothing Drive to Benefit the Homeless

Heather Rodman and a small group of like-minded friends make up the Athena Group. Each year they get together and organize a clothing drive, lovingly-termed Give. Get., to benefit the homeless of San Diego county. This year they collected a U-Haul full of donated clothing and close to a thousand dollars for the Alpha Project, a non profit dedicated to helping the homeless improve their living conditions, break drug habits and find employment. The event was on Tuesday night, December 14th, at Keno's in Encinitas. The venue was packed and there were some great sponsors involved. For more information on the clothing drive please visit www.givegetproject.com and become a fan on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Give-Get/162970267077655 to be kept abreast of new events and news. For information on the Alpha Project and how you can get involved, please visit www.alphaproject.org. Giving is a way to help others, but in the end, it may be the giver that gains the most from it. With the success of this year, next year is shapping up to be much bigger and will be held in multiple cities.
